A tangled thought.

In the night so dark,

Watching the city’s busy spark.

I think of what I’ve got,

What others have not?

Comparing lives is a tangled thought.

I’ve blessings, it’s true,

Some just dream of having a few.

Yet lacks I bear, like morning dew.

My father gave up,

Missed gatherings and such.

My mother, too, faced trials as such.

Now I give my part,

Fewer parties, a lighter cart.

Less gold, yet still a beating heart.

Though life’s path is rough,

And times feel oh so tough,

These shared moments are enough.

So we carry on,

In the light of dawn,

Knowing it’s love that spawns,

Sweet moments, like a swan’s.
